About us
We are a group of young people who have been working intensively in the field of school education for several years. Our learning and field experience led us to conceive the idea of setting up an innovative school that would create a pedagogical alternative to rote learning for elementary education. We approached the Anand Niketan group of schools in Gujarat for collaborative support and began our academic activities in 2012, using the National Curriculum Framework 2005 and the Right to Education Act 2009 as our pathfinder guides. AND school has no traditional classrooms and no fixed syllabus yet it seeks to evolve an environment where students learn on their own, guided by mentors, and build up a knowledge base that effectively covers the syllabus of the national school system.
